Remember the
eaten Easter package? The package that rats chewed into and took a chunk out of Zana's gift, a dress because it was made out of edible fabric perhaps.
Well I took the dress and sent it to the durzee (seamstress) and asked her to pleat the front. The problem was that I sent the dress through the gulley via an opinionated young lady so that I would not have to drag my children through the heat. When fore mentioned young lady returned she told me she asked the durzee to "patch it." She really meant what she said and I knew that but I figured how wrong could it go.......
So this Sunday my sunshine wore her cute little dress. I confess the dress was a bigger hit when she wore it in our hood. It doesn't quite translate for Westerners. One mommy said, "What a lovely dress I just don't like the pig on there." Another gently asked if I had chosen the patch. I tried not to be offended and judged that mommy for putting her one year old in TOMS. Oh the sinner I am! I realized that this dress may need to be only worn with her neighborhood friends. They have a real appreciation for patches and mixing and matching.
So here is Zana's new sporting look. The neighbors think I really spruced up the dress and not a ONE thought Zana was wearing a pig. If they had thought the patch was a pig, well..........
I would have been shunned. This picture just doesn't capture the size of this bear/pig/unknown character. She-being gives you a thumbs up that stretches about three inches high. One hefty for a patch. Doesn't it go great with the lovely floral pattern. I'd give it a one thumb up.
