My cell phone has a mind of its own and happens to be more strong-willed then my sweet toddler girl.Today it would not allow me to take more than four steps in any direction from a wall socket. If I dared to move five steps the call was cut mercilessly.
Here is a run down of what can happen while a mommy is on the phone.
- Toddler One can move all the dining room chairs into airplane formation
- Toddler Two can turn on and off lights and try to stick a finger in a socket while standing on a chair.
- When mommy does not immediately discipline Toddler Two, Toddler One can decide to copy Toddler Two's wisdom.
- All of mommy's pads can be emptied onto the floor, half of them opened and STUCK to the floor.
- Mommy can dance on one foot because she has to go to the bathroom and her friend can't see her desperation.
- Toddler Two can take poopy diaper off while Toddler One screams "Dirty"
- Toddler One and Two can get the "Eye of Reproof" and not respond.
- While Toddler One and Two scream and yell and someone can knock on the door and still the person on the other line is talking.
- While Toddler One and Two are yelling, and the door is being pounded on, the house phone which NEVER rings can start peeling in the bedroom.
- Mommy can wet her pants (did not happen today) but Toddler One wet their pants!
A lot can happen when I make myself available to the phone. Today I had to be available, it truly was important, but most of the time I just ignore the phone's ring and keep changing a diaper, reading a book about Curious George, or playing chase. Tomorrow we will be practicing "Telephone Manners" for those not Talking on the Phone. Any ideas anyone?
ooooo I can see this happening as I read it.
