Capturing the Glamour

I have literally five minutes to write.  Five.

Here it is.  My life is not glamorous.  I live a great life of adventure but there is little to no glamour.

Here is my day in little spurts to give you an idea of my frustration over the common question I am asked;  "What does a normal day in your life look like?"

There is no normal but here is my Not So Normal day.

Wake up in the same room as my kids because the AC is not working in our room.
My eyes open into the eyes of Zana who is intently staring into my face and breathing heavily.
"Hi."  she says with zeal.  "Hi."
I am supposed to be up before her. Oh well.
I grab my coffee and my Bible and try to pray while the neighborhood fills all their buckets downstairs below our front window.
We eat oatmeal and sing as a family.
We are all dressed.  I am wearing underwear, pants, a long sleeved knee length shirt, and a large piece of cloth draped around my neck, head, and top, four bangles and covered shoes in mid 90 degree weather.
We head for a place of worship.  A grave where people who are disturbed go to pray to a dead saint in hopes of relief and freedom from their bondage.  We wade through throngs of morning traffic and arrive at the large tomb surrounded by a plot of ground.  We weave through the many vendors to the gate and into the arena.  The kids and I grab a bit of prime reality in the shade and settle into pray.  Well, I pray while they run back and forth between our tree (surrounded by manure) and another tree.  I am willing to sit by the tree for shade in exchange for the smell.  My son is running by a crazy woman who is watching him intently.  I am watching her intently.  So is everyone else so I feel pretty safe.  My husband is walking and talking with others.  He returns an hour later to explain that as he sat and prayed in one area a man had a demonic attack and then died.  They are bundling his body into an auto a stones throw from where I sit with the kids.  The wailing is as incessant as the smell of incense burning like unanswered prayers.
We finish our time.  I am a melting mommy and I have a melted down toddler girl.
We arrive home.  I wash the kids.  Wash the laundry.  Fold.  hang up.  Make lunch while my children play in two buckets.  Normal size buckets and a faucet rank high on great entertainment.  Read books with beautiful pictures to my two very tired children who got veggies plates with smiley faces for lunch.
(more on that at a later date)
It has been ten minutes I have to finish later or next week.....
That was my day up until noon.
What did your day hold?
The rest of the day was a breeze with three fighting bulls.  Language class.  Chai.  Tired kids. And Diggers digging too close to home!
