Christmas Remnants

To Abe's delight all things Christmas were still up mid January in Thailand.  He was gobsmacked.  He went from our little home of decorations and Auntie D.'s little fake tree to giant trees towering up half a dozen floors outside a mall and lines of seven foot candy canes interspersed with car sized snowflakes.  And the lights... oh the lights hanging everywhere making everything magical.

My son loves Christmas.  He got a pair of gloves, a toy car and a book in his stocking but the whole month is full of fun crafts, advent, candles, fire, apple cider and singing carols and parties.   He firmly believes Jesus' birthday is the best day of the year.  To discover that all of Thailand celebrates this birthday was a delight beyond all delights.  When he discovered a tiny nativity at one hotel he fell upon his knees with such wonder and exclamation that the staff were ready to give him all he might request.  He was smitten.  Here he is in true Indian fashion getting his picture taken with a large teddy for sale.  He did not ask for the teddy or any toy but he specifically asked to get his photo taken.  He posed studiously for us...and another tourist family from....India.

Here is Zana in a giant sleigh.
