Condensation

The heat is still hot in America.   It is somewhere in the 90s.  It is pretty close to what it is in River City today except in River City the electricity is probably off, with humidity soaring, and humanity pressing in on every side.

Here in the fabulous U.S. of A. I look out to green.  I can actually hear the hum of the fans, I can make a salad (impossible in River City during this season), there is ice in the freezer here.... actually there are no less than three freezers in the house here at my mother-in-law's.

I can open a freezer and stick my head in without being concerned that everything inside will melt!  In fact my whole Indian fridge could probably fit twice into two of the freezers!  I can wear shorts and an airy shirt.  I can make sandwiches for dinner. I can take a cool shower because the water is not coming from a heated tank on the roof.  I can take my kids to an air-conditioned library.  I can drive in an air-conditioned car.  I can go shopping in air-conditioning.  It is heavenly.

But I can't eat mangos.  I can't sit sweating with my friends watching my kids sweat and trying to only move our mouths while we talk so that we won't sweat more. And.... well I can't really think of anything else.  I must confess those mangos are really good but not worth it.
