Color Driven Roamers

We are having our house painted.  Right now there are four men supposedly painting in my home.  Both babies are sleeping.  All the men are talking.  There is no electricity (there hasn't been all morning).  I just finished giving them a plate full of food, checking the color for a wall, and cleaning off a bathroom door.  They came five days ago.   They came with the clothes on their back and shorts in their hands.  They came READY to work.... they are the painters one of whom would call himself the contractor.

We supplied....

*the paint
*the brushes
*the ladder (rented for 30 cents a day)
*the second ladder which is a bed frame and a table
*the brushes
*the four buckets
*the broom
*the turpentine
*the putty
*the color fast to add to the white
*the hats they wear as they paint
*the scrapers
*the wipers
*the snacks three times a day (I make chai, and give them a plate full of food)
*the clean up labor after they "finish" a room
*the drop cloths

Things ARE different here.

As it is we are living as a family roaming from room to room moving the furniture out of one room into another so that they can continue to paint.  They have done three rooms so far and have one to go along with a bathroom.  I wonder how long it will take!
