Currently, I am working my way through the Bible, slowly. On the advice of Pastor Sunday, yes a real man, I choose one book of the Bible read it once, read it again 19 times and then choose another book of the Bible and repeat steps one and two. I love it. I find it difficult to move on at times. I find myself in a new book and I dip back into a prior book to remind myself of the familiar words found there.
With my fuzzy nursing brain in which Zana sucks all that is smart from me, all that is seemingly rational, all that is full of vim and vigor, reading a book twenty times ensures something sticks! Fuzzy nursing brain ensures that if I read a book everyday for 20 days it feels new EACH time!
I Peter is the book for now. And for now my husband is with friends that are part of the exile. Part of a beautiful group of people who are elect, but due to that glorious reality, very alienated from their village. My husband is sleeping in their village, encouraging their hearts with promises from God's word, being eaten by their mosquitoes and eating their delicious food. He will pray with and for them. He will sleep with them probably under the stars or on some hard floor. He will come home elated from his adventure and encouraged because he has been with some who are of the elect exiles according to the foreknowledge of God the Father in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood.
